 Wanaume kutoka kata za Lunguya na Shilela, Halmashauri ya wilaya ya Msalala, mkoani Shinyanga, wameitaka jamii kurudisha utamaduni wa asili wa kukaa na familia maarufu kama vikome ili kurudisha maadili ambayo yameporomoka.

Wakizungumza katika mdahalo wa wanaume uliolenga kujenga mjadala juu ya nafasi ya wanaume katika kuzuia vitendo vya Ukatili wa Kijinsia na kuacha mila na destri kandamizi ulioendeshwa na Mtandao wa Jinsia Tanzania (TGNP), walisema kwamba, mila hiyo ya asili ni muhimu sana ikarudi kwani ilisaidia sana kujenga jamii kuanzia ngazi ya familia. 

 Amesema kwamba kuna umuhimu mkubwa kwa jamii kurudisha utamaduni wa asili wa kufanya vikao vya familia (vikome) kati ya Baba na watoto ili kujenga maadili mema, na kukemea tabia chafu ikiwa ni pamoja na kujenga uwajibikaji katika familia. “turudishe utamaduni wa asili, vikao vyetu vya Baba wa familia na watoto vilikuwa na maana sana wakati ule, tumekimbilia tamaduni za nje, umesahau mamabo yetu. Vikome vilisaidia sana kujenga maadili. Wazee w a leo, wamekuwa hivyo kwa sababu ya vikao vya familia (vikome) siku hizi hakuna” alisema Mchungaji Joseph Mwamashimba.

 Mwezeshaji wa Midahalo huo kutoa TGNP, Deogratius Temba, alisema kwamba, mdahalo huo ni sehemu ya mradi unaofadhiliwa na Shirika la Umoja wa mataifa la idadi ya watu (UNFPA), na Shirika la Msaada wa Korea (KOICA), ambao unalenga kubadilisha mitazamo, mila na destru kandamizi zinazochangia Ukatili wa Kijinsia kwa wanawake na watoto.

Na Mwandishi Wetu, Msalala Mtandao wa Jinsia Tanzania (TGNP) umeendesha mdahalo wa kutomokeza vitendo vya Ukatili wa Kijinsia kwa wanawake na watoto katika Kata za Lunguya na Msalala, Halmashauri ya wilaya ya Msalala,wilayani Kahama Mkoani shinyanga.

Mdahalo huo uliowahusisha wanaume, pia wameshiriki wanaume ambao ni viongozi wa kijamii, kama wazee wa mila, wakango na Viongozi wa Dini, ili kuwapa nafasi wanaume kujadiliana wenyewe nafasi yao katika kutokomeza, kuzuia na kuwalinda watoto wa kike dhidi ya Ukatili ikiwa ni pamoja na kutokomeza mila na destru inazochangia vitendo hivyo. Katika mdahalo huo, pia wanaume hao walipendekeza kushirikiana na serikali kujenga mazingira salama kwa watoto wanaosoma shule za sekondari kwa kuhakikisha wanajenga mabweni ya wasichana ili kuwakinga na hatari ya kupata ujauzito kutokana na kutembea umbali mrefu kwenda shuleni. Akizungumza Mtendaji Kata wa shilela Mwanahidi Mzee, wakati wa mdahalo huo, alisema kwamba kupitia Ofisi ya Mbunge wa Jimbo la Msalala, Kata hiyo imepatiwa sh. Milioni 10 kwaajili ya kuanza ujenzi wa bweni la wasichana, ambapo ushiriki wa jamii yote kwa ujumla ni muhimu sana ili mradi huo uweze kukamilika kwa wakati na kuwa na tija.

Kwa upande wa kata ya Lunguya wanaume walioshiriki mdahalo huo, walikubaliana kwamba, kwa pamoja warudi kwenye mila nzuri za kulea vijana ili kujenga kizazi chenye maadili kwani maadili yameharibika sana miongoni mwa jamii. Aidha walikubaliana kwamba wanaume warudi kwenye nafasi yao ya kusimamia watoto na kuwajibika kwani endapo wanaume wataendelea kuwaachia wanawake kusimamia familia, na kulea watoto tatizo la ukosefu wa maadili litaendelea katika jamii na mimba za utotoni hazitapungua. Pia wameshauri serikali za vijiji kuweka sheria ndogo za kuzuia watoto wa shule wa kike na kiume kushiriki kwenye ngoma za usiku, sherehe na kuzurura hovyo mitaani usiku, ili kuwaepusha na vishawishi

Wadau wakutana na TAMISEMI kujadili mfumo wa utoaji mikopo ya asilimia 10 Na Deogratius Temba, Dodoma KIKOSI kazi cha Asasi za Kiraia (Azaki), wamekutana na Ofisi ya Rais – Tawala za Mikoa na Serikali za Mitaa (TAMISEMI) kuwasilisha maoni na mapendekezo yao kwenye mfumo wa utoaji wa mikopo ya asilimia 10 ya mapato ya Halmashauri kwa Wanawake, Vijana na watu wenye ulemavu.

Kikosi kazi hicho chini ya uenyekiti wa UNA-Tanzania, kimewakilishwa na Mtandao wa Jinsia Tanzania (TGNP), ANSAF, WAjibu- Institute of Public Accountability, Policy forum na IDPC, na kuwasilisha maoni ya Azaki juu ya muundo gani utakaowezesha makundi lengwa kunufaika na fedha hizo. Awali akiwasilisha, Mkuu wa Programu kutoka UNA-Tanzania, Lucas Kifyasi alisema kwamba kikosi kazi kimefika Tamisemi kwa lengo la kuwasilisha maoni na mapendekezo ya haraka mara baada ya kusitishwa kwa muda mfumo wa sasa unaotumika kutoa mikopo kwa makundi maalum ili kusubiria muundo na mfumo mpya. Pamoja na mengine, suala kutumia benki kupitisha mikopo hiyo, ambapo wadau walipendekeza kuwepo na Banki ya serikali za Mitaa ambayo itaweza kulenga kuwafikia walengwa kiurahisi, kuliko kuzitumia benki za kibiashara ambazo makundi maalum yamekuwa yakipata changamoto kufikia huduma za kibenki. Kaimu Mkurugenzi Utawala Bora na Maendeleo ya jamii kutoka TAMISEMI , Stephen Motambi, alishukuru Azaki, kwa kuona umuhimu wa kuwasiliana na wizara kabla mchakato haujafika mbali. Aidha, aliwashauri wadau kuandaa wasilisho litakalo onesha muundo ambao wadau wa Azaki wanapendekeza na kuwasilisha Tamisemi ili mikopo hiyo iweze kuwanufaisha walengwa wengi na kuhakikisha changamoto zilizojitokeza huko nyuma hazitajirudia.

MKUU wa Mkoa wa Singida, Peter Serukamba,ameiagiza Taasisi ya Kuzuia na Kupambana na Rushwa (TAKUKURU) mkoani kwa kushirikiana na vyama vya wafanyakazi kuhakikisha rushwa ya ngono na unyanyasaji wa kijinsia inatokomezwa katika mkoa huu.

Akizungumza leo Mei Mosi wakati wa sherehe za maadhimisho ya Siku ya wafanyakazi kimkoa zilizofanyika Manispaa ya Singida, amesema tatizo la rushwa ya ngono ni lazima likomeshwe kwenye Mkoa wa Singida. Serukamba amewagiza Wakurugenzi wa Halmashauri ambao bado hawajawalipa posho watendaji wa kata kuwalipa ndani ya miezi mitatu na kutoa taarifa kwake. "Nichukue nafasi hii kumpongeza Rais Dk.Samia Suluhu Hassan kwa kuona umuhimu wa kuwapandisha madaraja watumishi waliokuwa wanastahili hali ambayo imeleta motisha na tija katika utendaji kazi kwa watumishi ," amesema Serukamba.

We should unite to end GBV against women in football

By Victoria Mungure, OUT Violence Against Women (VAW) occurs in all societies, at any stage of a woman's lifecycle and at any social life that women live. The violence that women face affects their day-to-day life, particularly how they participate in the mainstream of community life. Women’s participation in sports particularly in football is very low globally; one of the reasons is Gender-Based Violence, stigma, and attitudes towards women who participate in football. The situation has denied women an opportunity to leap the benefits of football sports especially good health, physical fitness, and economic opportunities. Gender-based violence (GBV) in sports refers to any physical, psychological, sexual, or economic violence perpetrated against women just because they are women’s football stakeholders. This may occur in various dimensions varied from the family level, community level, clubs’ level, and other public spaces. They may take all forms including physical, psychological/emotional, and sexual acts of violence. According to the study conducted by Global Peace Foundation Tanzania, under the support of WFT in 2021, the study came up with several recommendations that were worked on for the WFT and the Global Peace Foundation to meet with various stakeholders, to consult on how to so that the problem of Sexual Violence ends within the sports sector. There were also good recommendations to persuade various organizations and sports stakeholders to cooperate to ensure that the problem of Sexual Violence and Sexual harassment of girls involved in football ends. In addition, stakeholders suggested that the government intervene and set guidelines and policies that will lead to the protection of girls in the sports sector.

The Government of Tanzania has taken initiative in addressing Violence Against Women and Children in Tanzania by developing the National Plan of Action to End Violence Against Women and Children (NPA-VAWC). 2016/17-2021-22. Despite the efforts, women and girls in football continue to suffer from GBV because the role of The Ministry responsible for Sports is very minimal in the implementation of NPA-VAWC. Also, the community still stigmatizes women who participate in football and other sports. In light of this view, this study was conducted by GPF to establish the state of GBV in women’s football. Specifically, the study addressed three key objectives, namely to: determine and establish the magnitude of GBV in Football sport in Tanzania; determine the existing policy gap on preventing and responding to GBV in sports, and generate stakeholders’ recommendations on policy improvements to be done in football to improve women participation.

speaking to the journalist, The GPF’s Country Director, Ms. Martha Nghambi, said that, after doing the GBV study for the year 2021, this year 2022 WFT has continued to support the organization by enabling it to continue implementing part of the recommendations of the Research report. Ms. Martha says that the GPF is already continuing to meet with various stakeholders to discuss how to improve the environment of girls who play football and ensure that they are not subjected to acts of sexual violence. he has already said, GPF has met with TFF, BMT, Tanzania women's football associations and now they are preparing to meet with sports journalists and media leaders to discuss “ ...GPF we are very grateful to WFT for providing us with the funds that in 2021, we did this research and gave us a light on where to start in lobbying and advocacy. With the speed we are going to meet with stakeholders, including women players and former players, we believe that the community will gain understanding. And we want to collaborate with the government and other football bodies to create awareness in the community, especially women who participate in football, to change the attitude towards acts of humiliation for women in the sports industry” said Martha Martha added that, GPF in collaboration with WFT expect in the ongoing project to l collaborate with sports clubs and government authorities to set guidelines, rules and policies that will prevent acts of sexual violence and protect women from humiliation in sports. Also she said, the project is intending to develop innovative mechanisms for reporting and addressing Violence Against Women Footballers. This is because the study also found that there are no policies within the clubs both registered and unregistered that address Violence. The TFF and ZFF in collaboration with the responsible ministries should instruct each club to develop internal policies that aim at addressing violence against women footballers. Ensure they enhance psychosocial and other services to women and girls who are subjected to violence

WE MUST TREAT GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AS A ‘PANDEMIC'

By Marco Kijo, SJMC To be in relationship isn’t supposed to be battle field among those who engaged themselves by their willingness or external/internal forces were applied during the process. Gender-based violence incidents have been practiced for years in our societies and there are a different number of stakeholders like TAMWA or TAWLA and government are fighting against those actions and the rights of the person(s) affected. Gender Based Violence as any violence that targets individuals or groups on the basis of their gender which plays on norms and gender exclusions to break people down both physically and emotionally and encompasses all women, men, girls and boys. This is according to United Nation, 2004. An estimated 35% of women worldwide have experienced either physical or sexual violence. In Tanzania women seemed to be most violated because of different media reports but men are also affected once in a minimal number. The region from the lake zone of Tanzania like Mara and Mwanza are mostly affected by GBV but also in the Northern part of the country, some women are affected for various reasons. GBV actions are happening for various reasons, such as depending on the personal behavior, Culture norms, and economic status of an individual or entire society. As we reach a position to term Gender Based Violence as a ‘Pandemic' it’s because they increase in number in our society on both men and women, but most of these harmful actions are done to women and left some of them with disability and others they face death. Personal behavior: can inherited or learn it when growing up, you can find young one with rude attitude and then you look to his father or uncle, they are similar.

Others learn from their school friends or on streets were they spend most of time alone. They can learn bad habit like abusing drugs, for instance smoking of marijuana or sniffing other imported drugs (cocaine, heroin or mandrax) plus alcohol abuse. Those deeds can generate a generation with father and mother with attitude of not being afraid causing harm to others. Some of the GBV are after smoking weed (marijuana) or alcohol abuse at which drive a guy to beat or rape a woman. According to Tanzania constitution and it’s laws is illegal to cause harm and might be cause a death to another one unintentional can make an accused to be sentenced to prison for life. Hassan Mayunga, Senior State Attorney, President's Office Ethics Secretariat insist on the society to be aware on their habit of beating their partner. “…you may think that to beat your wife or fiancé is just a normal act, but it’s consequence may results into life sentence to life prison when the death occur”. Under Penal code cap 16 section 198 says that, “any person who commits the felony of manslaughter is liable to imprisonment for life”. Cultural norms: Early or forcing marriage may results into death, this is when the girl give birth due to the fact she’s not ready to perform delivery process. Another cause of death is aftermath of reaction of a girl(woman) she’s not ready to start a family with a man forced to marry whom could be too older than her. Happy Nyasumo (18) of Serengeti district residence attempted first-degree murder to her husband Bebe Mbogo (26) after 14 days of their marriage. Happy was forced to marry Bebe after her family received several cattle as a bribe, she wasn’t ready to marry him and she decided to cut his husband’s throat three times with a machete after finishing making love during night time when she was forced by her husband to sleep with him, the district commissioner of Serengeti Mr. Nurdin Babu confirmed. “The incident was reported by her father (Happy) after an alert from Bebe's neighbor, that they heard a screaming from his in-laws house at midnight and when do follow up they found Bebe lying on the floor and bloodshed around him and Happy was calm”. Said Mr. Nurdin during press conference held at Serengeti district central police. By looking on this incident, the respective society becomes in dilemma to blame a just married girl for killing her husband or her family for putting her on that situation! Miss Halima, Happy's friend quoted, “my friend was under psychological pressure which affected her, she had a boyfriend with whom they are in good relation and they are promised to tie the knot in the coming year”. A study conducted in Serengeti District in Tanzania reported that the majority of women had positive attitude towards GBV against them, which is likely to slow down the process of eradicating GBV. In this study woman argued that beating may result into injuries and permanent disabilities, therefore nobody enjoy it. On the other hand, when asked to clarify the myth; some male admitted that normally women enjoy being beaten because it is associated with jealousy, assuming that men must beat their wives to prove that they love them. Therefore, men use the false myth in order to justify GBV. In Tanzania, GBV is going wide; we look at the Tanzania Demographic Health Survey (TDHS) conducted in 2021 found that 44% of every married woman has experienced physical and/or sexual violence from an intimate partner in their lifetime. Within the family even the spouse is forced to have sex, this also is rape in other way but many who experience it remains silent. Some are afraid to be divorced by their spouse or to reserve respect for their spouse or partner. Gender-based violence (GBV) undermines the health, dignity, security, and autonomy of its victims, yet it remains shrouded in a culture of silence. Victims of violence can suffer sexual and reproductive health consequences, including forced and unwanted pregnancies, unsafe abortions, fistula, sexually transmitted infections and HIV, and even death. UNFPA is one of the UN's lead agencies working to further gender equality and women’s empowerment and to address the physical and emotional consequences of GBV. UNFPA’s programs offer psychosocial assistance, medical treatment and rape kits to survivors, and promote the right of all women and girls to live free of violence and abuse which is one of the human rights. The culture of society to remain silence or they are not proactive when the gender based violence happens around them increase the number of them. In area like Zanzibar some police officers(Men) they think women rape is not they are issue or they don’t understand it. "Gender-based violence is persistent in Zanzibar but women are not confident in reporting these issues," says deputy sergeant Mauwa Saleh, a police officer for 25 years. She deploy that after asked by Rebecca Grant, who is a freelance journalist based in Brooklyn. She covers women's health, reproductive rights, and gender-based violence. Mauwa continues "In the past, there were very few cases because victims were afraid and there was no special handling or privacy." Many GBV were conducted with close people like neighbor, grandfather, brothers, uncle’s, cousins, father’s, stepfather. According to Tanzania annual Crime and Traffic Incidents Statistics report, published by the National Bureau of Statistics, gender-based violence against children "mostly occurs in the communities especially within a family". Poverty is the catalyst of member of the family to experience GBV among themselves, sharing same bedroom between the old and young ones. Moreover member or neighbor with good economic muscle can persuade the girl with his money or gifts and having sex with her and she'll remains silence in a afraid of that pipe to be cut off and she’s in need. International Food Policy Research Institute on their blog article “How is economic security linked to gender- based violence? New insights from the Sexual Violence Research Initiative Forum 2019”. Write on Tanzania, Using baseline data from the evaluation of a livelihoods plus live skills training for adolescents living in households participating in the national cash transfer program, 1 in 5 adolescents aged 15-19 started relationships for financial reasons, often with the promise of a "better life," but girls who got pregnant were often abandoned by partners. Gender Based Violence to women and children may results into unexpected pregnancy and health complication like HIV or other STI's. And this needs early examination about 72 hours after assault. Sexual harassments to the women and children mostly are conducting without using any protection which leads to the transmission of those dangerous diseases and unwanted pregnancy also they can be early pregnancy to the children. Some tribes when a girl conceive an early pregnant she is forced to have another problem of getting early marriage to the someone who do the violence so they can clear the shame in the society they present. Women exposed to the men violence may undergo such a behavior like use and alcohol abuse or suicidal tendency. As man remains a breadwinner and heads of the family automatically mute the voice of woman to be heard especially when they face physical gender based violence. In South Africa during this Covid-19 pandemic era it has been easier to get some one arrested for breaking down lockdown regulations than to get the authority to es to respond the calls from women beaten to destatusonomic sstatus: The relationship between economic insecurity and gender-based violence is complex. Empowering women can help eliminate hunger, food scarcity also leads to increased gender-based violence. In Malawi, where a 2013 survey revealed that 61% of women and girls said they had experienced sexual violence and 64% had experienced physical violence. To empower women it’s not an option if society wants to eradicate this violence among women, when they have economic power they can make decision and provide needs and wants on their family and that manhood attitude can be perished. Financial institute should assist women by giving them loan with affordable interest. Government also should pass laws and policy which are in favor to women. In a few, some part of Kenya and Tanzania at Kilimanjaro region men’s are beaten by their partners (wife) because they don’t have economic power, they don’t want to work instead they spend most of their time on drinking alcohol. We must use available resources to overcome and support all women and girl whom experiencing violence. Gender-based violence is a major human rights issue, predominantly affecting women and girls, regardless of class, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability status or culture. The Inclusion of Women with Disability in Digital Space is Now: A call to the Government and Stakeholders

The Government and development stakeholders have been called upon to to intentionally invest in digital user friendly system to include people with disabilities especially women and girls.

 Speaking at the Commemoration of the international Women’s Day organized by GPF Tanzania with other stakeholders, the Executive Director of Women Fund Tanzania Trust (WFT-T), Ms Rose Marandu in her speech as a guest of Honor said, women with disabilities are challenged in multi factors that cannot be ignored; first is their disabilities, second is being left out from digital space and the core one being a woman.

 Hence the vulnerability is becoming critical when it comes to digital space. She also reminded the audience that, since COVID-19, different countries including Tanzania, have witnessed the tremendous speed of shift of the way of doing things from physical to digital way of doing things. The government and business have also moved towards Digital Space. 

However all the movement seems to likely forgotten the segment population of People with disabilities. 

The WFT-T, Executive Director, Ms. Rose Marandu, was a guest of honor during the IWD commemoration prepared by Global Peace Foundation Tanzania. 

  “Everything now is implemented through online systems like E-government software for payment and application for tenders, studies are accessed through digital space.

 I would suggest whenever we design our programs we need to make sure we include our colleagues with disabilities in all sectors, especially now, in this digital era” She further appealed to the government and other stakeholders to intentionally invest in user-friendly systems to include PWDs while ensuring the implementation of laws that protect persons with disabilities being observed, research to understand the gaps are conducted, as well improving the education curriculum in schools to increase the participation of Children with disabilities in STEM subjects.

Every year on March 8th, the world celebrates international women’s day. This year International Women’s Day theme focused on “DigitAll; Innovation and technology for gender equality” emphasizing the equal access and use of technological innovation to close the gender gap between women and men. Women with disabilities play a constructive role and make significant contributions to the peace process, development, and economic process.

 In Tanzania, they have proved their abilities in different aspects of life including leadership, entrepreneurship, peace-building at the family level, and political participation. However, the inclusion of women and girls with disabilities in digital space, especially the deaf is still low. Deaf women are being left behind due to communication barriers and limited sign language interpreters. 

Tanzania census 2012 shows the incidence of disability in Tanzania stood at 2 percent while the proportion of persons with hearing disability was 13.1% compared to other disabilities. With the increase of population by 16 million in ten years to 61.7 million, there is a possibility of an increase of people with disability as well therefore it cannot be overemphasized when it comes to innovation and technological inclusion. It is from this view, the Global Peace Foundation in collaboration with FUWAVITA, Darasa Tech, and Tree that Grow, celebrated this year’s IWD by embracing the achievement of women with a disability as great contributors to the national development and resilient families.                     

 

                     

The consortium conducted a  series of events in six days including training and workshops as well as award giving to outstanding women with disabilities in different sectors including sports. The digital marketing training was provided to 38 women with Disabilities and entrepreneurs, among them, 25 of them were deaf women from FUWAVITA who were trained in digital marketing skills. The training facilitated by Dr. Mboni from DARASA Tech aimed at increasing their knowledge in presenting their business in digital space through creating brand identity, digital marketing strategy, creating engaging content, as well as utilizing social media marketing while generating traffic online. 

The training also touched on the practical skills and the importance of branding as well as storytelling in their business strategies. “This is my first time to touch this computer,  I believe this knowledge will add a lot of value to the growth of my business, and I am very happy to  get to know more about this digital marketing” said Victoria Philimon (FUWAVITA). On her side the facilitator of the training Dr. Mboni Kibello has this to say “It is an amazing experience for me to facilitate the digital marketing training to deaf women in commemoration of the international women’s month, these women are motivated and ready to take the next steps towards creating a better future for them and their families thus as an ICT expert my vision is to continue training more women with disabilities on digital skills to increase their meaningful engagement and presence in digital platforms’. 

 

On the climax of the IWD, Five (5) women with disabilities were recognized for their endless efforts to achieve an inclusive society through the provision of awards and 4 were given seed fund to support expansion of their business. The award called MWANAMKE HODARI AWARD presented to women with disabilities who initiated an impactful sustainable intervention with success plan.

Recognition Award presented to Coach MARIANA MPONJI… In recognition of her Dedication and Commitment to empower female athletes in all spheres of life, as the first female player who motivated the establishment of the first women’s wheelchair basketball team in Tanzania. 

 

The second recognition Award was presented to REHEMA SAID  as an Outstanding National and International Wheelchair Tennis player Icon. In honor of her valuable inspiration, and contribution towards the increasing participation of PWDs in sports welfare.

Third honorary award Proudly presented to MWANAIDI RASHID NG’ITU for her remarkable participation in both local and International PWD Athletic Competitions including the OLYMPIC games in Athens-Greece 2004. We firstly celebrated her on this year 2023.

The fourth recognition award was presented to SOPHIA MBEYELA…for being the champion of PWDs’ rights inclusion and empowerment towards achieving their economic, social, and leadership development both in and out of schools in Tanzania

 

The fifth recognition award was presented to ANETH GERANA. for being an Outstanding Woman in PWDs inclusion welfare. In honor of her valuable committed contribution and outstanding performance towards advocating for deaf women’s rights economically, socially, and their leadership development in Tanzania.

   In her remarks, Hajat Shamim Khan - the Chairperson of the Islamic Religion Women leaders wing (JUWAKITA) reflected in the BAKWATA constitution which is also part and parcel of the Tanzania Women Interfaith Network Leaders, insisted on the provision of education to women in peacebuilding leadership. “If we want to see the change we want to impact in women’s lives. Let’s empower women with the knowledge of Conflict resolution, they should know first how to recognize, protect themselves and resolve conflicts around them then the whole community members will be safe”

KUTOKANA na Changamoto ya Ushiriki wa Wanawake, Vijana  na Watu wenye ulemavu kwenye siasa hasa kwenye nafasi za uongozi  na maamuzi ndani ya vyama vya siasa TGNP iliona  ni muhimu mkubwa kushirikiana  na Ofisi ya Msajili  wa Vyama vya Siasa kuviwezesha vyama kutengeneza sera ya jinsia, na moja ya Chama ambacho  kilinufaika kwa mara ya kwanza ni Chama cha Ukombozi wa Umma (CHAUMMA).

Ameyasema hayo leo Machi 11,2023 Jijini  Dar es Salaam, Mwezeshaji kutoka TGNP, Bw.Deogratius Temba wakati akiwasilisha rasimu ya Sera ya Jinsia ya Chama cha CHAUMMA mbele ya Kamati Kuu ya Chama hicho ili baadae kiweze kupeleka rasmi hiyo katika Mkutano Mkuu wa Chama hicho.

Akiwasilisha rasimu hiyo Bw.Temba amesema rasmi ya Sera ya Jinisia kwa CHAUMMA inakwenda kusaidia  kukua kwa dhana ya demokraisia ya Kijamii kwa sababu wanawake, vijana, wazee na watu wenye ulemavu watapata fursa sawa ndani na nje ya chama hicho hasa katika nafasi za uongozi na  maamuzi.

Amesema katika mikakati  ya sera hiyo, inaenda kuboresha dhana ya “Ubwabwa wa shuleni na hospitalini ” ili kuwa na Jamii yenye ustawi kwa kuboresha huduma za jamii hasa afya, ustawi, elimu na maji safi na salama.

"Wakati  nawasilisha rasmi hii,  CHAUMMA wametoa mapendekezo machache ya  kuboresha lakini wameipenda kwani  inaonesha na kutafsiri vizuri  falsa yao ya Ubwawa na Maharage mashuleni". Amesema 

Pamoja  na hayo Bw.Temba amesema kuwa katika misingi ya Chama hicho, katika Katiba yake (2015), na  Kanuni za uendeshaji toleo la 2012,  kimebainisha misingi ya itikadi yake  kuwa  binadamu wote sawa, binadamu wanastahili kuwa huru na kulinda utu wao bila kukandamizwa na mtu yeyote kwa misingi  rangi,  kabila na jinsia.

Ameeleza kuwa dhumuni ya hii sera ni kuhakikisha wanawake wanashiriki  kikamilifu  kwenye nafasi za uongozi wa kisiasa na maamuzi  ili kuweza  kuonesha ujuzi wao katika uongozi licha ya baadhi  ya jamii  kuamini wanawake hawawezi katika uongozi na kufanya maamuzi.

Kwa upande wake Mwenyekiti wa CHAUMMA Hashim Rungwe  amesema wamependezwa  na uwasilishwaji wa rasimu ya sera  ya Jinsia ya Chama hicho hivyo basi watahakikisha sera hiyo inatekelezwa ndani ya chama na wataanza kutafuta rasilimali  fedha kwaajili ya kutekeleza  sera hiyo.

Mtandao wa Jinsia Tanzania (TGNP) umezindua mradi wa Boresha Habari katika vyuo vya uandishi wa habari kuhamasisha uandishi wenye mrengo wa kijinsia.

Akizungumza leo Jumatano Machi 8,2023 wakati wa uzinduzi wa Mradi wa Boresha Habari kwenye  Chuo cha Practical School of Journalism, Mwezeshaji kutoka Mtandao wa Jinsia Tanzania(TGNP) Deo Temba amesema TGNP inapenda kuona waandishi wa habari ambao bado hawajaingia kwenye vitendo wanaelewa vizuri masuala yote ya usawa wa Kijinsia pamoja na kujua uandishi wa habari wa Kijinsia pamoja na kuijua jamii kwa ukaribu zaidi hasa wanawake, vijana na Watu wenye ulemavu.

Pia amesema lengo ni kuona waandishi hao wanaandika makala au habari zinazohusiana na masuala yenye mrengo wa Kijinsia kwa kwa kuweka kwenye mitandao ya kijamii ili kuleta matokeo chanya kwenye jamii.

"Bila kuwa na waandishi wa habari wazuri wanaojua masuala ya usawa wa Kijinsia hatuwezi kuwa na maendeleo mazuri hivyo uzinduzi wa mradi huo kwenye Chuo cha Practical School of Journalism ili kuanza mafunzo kwenye chuo hicho yanayohusiana na Masuala yenye mrengo wa Kijinsia", amesema Temba.

TEN/MET yawasilisha mapendekezo ya bajeti yenye mrengo wa Kijinsia Bungeni

Mtandao wa Elimu Tanzania (TEN/MET) umewasilisha mapendekezo ya Bajeti yenye mrengo wa Kijinsia kwa Kamati ya Kudumu ya Bunge, jijini Dodoma.

Wajumbe wa Kamati ya Kudumu ya Bunge ya Bajeti wakiwa katika picha ya pamoja na wanachama wa Mtandao wa Elimu Tanzania baada ya kuwasilisha mapendekezo ya Bajeti yenye mrengo wa Kijinsia.Mwenye suti nyeusi mbele kabisa ni Mwenyekiti wa Kamati  Mhe. Daniel Sillo.

Mapendekezo hayo ambayo yanalenga kuishawishi serikali kuingiza masuala ya Kijinsia kwenye sekta ya Elimu ili kuongeza ubora wa elimu unaowanufaisha wanafunzi wa kike, kiume na wenye ulemavu yamewasilishwa kwa kwmaati ya Kudumu ya Bunge wakati ambapo mchakato wa bajeti kwa mwaka wa fedha 2023/2024 unaendelea.

Miongoni mwa mapendekezo yaliyowasilishwa kwa Kamati ya Kudumu ya Bunge ni pamoja na:

Utengwaji wa bajeti kwa ajili ya kutoa pedi bure kwa wanafunzi; ambapo TEN/MET ilishauri kwamba serikali iondoe  kodi ya VAT kwenye bidhaa za hedhi salama.  Na pia serikali itenge fedha kwenye Bajeti zake za elimu kwa ajili ya kuwezesha wasichana kupatiwa taulo za kike bure shuleni.

Kutokana na kuendelea kuwepo kwa mdondoko wa wanafunzi wa kike na wa kiume kwenye mfumo wa elimu ya msingi na sekondari.  TEN/MET ilipendekeza, kuweka mkazo kwenye ujenzi wa mabweni katika shule za kata na kuhakikisha watoto wanapata chakula shuleni

Pia TEN/MET ilipendekeza kwamba  serikali iangalie namba ya kuongeza bajeti ya  Miundombinu mfano idadi toshelezi ya vyoo vyenye mfumo wa maji tiririka kwenye shule za msingi na sekondari. “Tunapendekeza, bajeti kwaajili ya SWASH program isimamiwe kikamilifu kuondoa changamoto hii. Halmashauri ambazo hazipo kwenye miradi ya SWASH zielekezwe kutenga fedha kupitia mapato ya ndani ili vyoo vinavyojengwa viweze kuwa na miundombinu yenye kukidhi mahitaji ya hedhi salama, hii itasaidia wasichana wanaoingia hedhi kushiriki masomo kwa siku zote bila kukosa” alisema sehemu ya mapendekezo hayo iliyowasilishwa na Deogratius Temba, mchambuzi na mkufunzi wa Bajeti yenye mrengo wa Kijinsia.

Pia ilielezwa  kwamba wasichana walio acha masomo kwa  ujauzito wanakumbana na changamoto mbalimbali wakati wa kurejea shuleni katika mfumo rasmi na usio rasmi.   Na kupendekeza kwamba serikali imarishe vituo vya kutolea elimu ili viwe rafiki kwa wanafunzi hao

Awali akitoa utangulizi kwa mbele ya  Kamati, Meneja Programu wa TEN/MET, Bi. Martha Makala, alisema kwamba TEN/MET ni Mtandao mpana unaoundwa na mashirika Zaidi ya 180 ambayo yanafanya kazi nchi nzima yakiwa ynajishughulisha na afua mbalimbali za elimu hasa utetezi kwenye usawa wa Kijinsia katika elimu.

Alisema kwamba, pamoja na kufanya afua za kutoa elimu, mashirika wanachama wa TEN/MET waliosambaa kila kona ya nchi wamechangia kwa kiasi kikubwa ujenzi wa miundombinu ya kutolea elimu chini kwa kushirikiana na halmashauri za wilaya.

Global Peace Foundation Tanzania incubated 54 Young CEO through Ujasiliamali Hub

 Youth unemployment in Tanzania is most structural and on the demand side of the labor market. Hence entrepreneurship, including youth entrepreneurship, can contribute to the solution. 

 If equipped with the right skills, mentors, social networks, technology and finance young entrepreneurs could drive the country’s economic growth and even regional to global. 

Entrepreneurship programs offer the youth a wide range to learn how academic skills connect to real business opportunities and hopes for success. For the past three years, Global Peace Foundation Tanzania has been providing training on entrepreneurship among youth to enable them with proper business management skills known as Ujasiliamali Hub.

The project's beneficiaries are Tanzanian Youth who are between 18 years to 35, and started their business or have not yet but have an idea of a business they want to do. Through Ujasilimali Hub youth learn from scratch and in the end, they start or continue doing their business in a more professional and systematic way. The cohort 54 youth have benefited from the training which began last year in November. 

They are currently undertaking mentoring and coaching from experienced business experts from Brazil. "The beneficiaries are currently undergoing mentorship for 90 days and after that, they will be well equipped to go on the ground and put into practice what they have learned in order to scale up their businesses," said Benson Daud, project officer.

He further pointed out that at first, they received over 100 applications from youth who successfully joined the program and complete the course 54 of them were absorbed. According to him, some of the imparted skills imparted to the trainees include my dream, business, products, advertising, research, profile, price, personal development, ideas, brand, location, and action plan, whereby the results have already shown the students are taking the knowledge in practice. Edson Gabriel (28) from Kigoma, was among the 54 students who attended the online training, he has this to say; 

“ I started to operate my business two years ago, but I was operating without any formalities, however after attending Ujasiliamali Hub online training, I have registered my business as one of the training assignments, I am now the CEO of KIBONDO CROPS AND PROCESSOR company, and my business has grown now. 

 I can now confidently buy crops from farmers and sell them to upcountry regions here in Tanzania and cross borders within East Africa Countries like Rwanda, Kenya, and DRC” said Edson Fatma Wambura (24) one of the beneficiaries thanked the Brazil experts for the quality support and motivation they are giving them, “We are currently being mentored by Madam Priscilla and coached by Mr Guilheme from Brazil for 90 days, so far my confidence in business has been boosted a lot. I have started producing liquid soaps for household use. 

My goal is, at the end of this year I should be able to own a small company and employ other people as my contribution to reducing the unemployment rate of my fellow youth”

 Speaking at a certificate handling ceremony for the 54 beneficiaries held in Dar es Salaam at the Global Peace Foundation Tanzania offices, Senior Program Manager Dr. Fatma Waziri said various interventions are being done to acquire enough funds to support them."We are talking with different business stakeholders in the country for the sake of making a bridge to connect these learners so that they can have immediate results once they complete their studies," she said. 

 In the same token, GPF  Tanzania Country Director Martha Nghambi reiterated that they will continue to offer entrepreneurship training each year in order to reach many youths and give them basic business concepts. "For many years, we have been conducting similar training targeting widows, disabled women and youths by providing practical and theory training sessions," Nghambi remarked. 

 On her part, one of the beneficiaries of the initiative Happiness Minga revealed that they have grasped many important things which will help them to run their businesses at ease. "Previously, we used to run my business without adhering to fundamental principles but now, we have learned how to advertise our products, brand, seek new customers, and make good business planning," she said. 

 The Dar es Salaam Youth Regional Officer, Mr. Zephaniah Masalid, who was the guest of honor encouraged the youth to continue following the instructions and the coaching they are receiving because currently, the Government has created a friendly online system for any youth group can apply for funds from the councils and municipals 10% of their revenue known as 4: 4: 2. “ I am congratulating you for this achievement, as for now there is an online system for youth fund application, use this opportunity to apply for a soft loan. You will be considered without biases”

The Global Peace Foundation Tanzania (GPF) have been empowering youth since 2015.

Na Mwandishi Wetu, JmaiiVoice Mashirika yanayofanya utetezi wa haki za wanawake na watoto nchini Tanzania, yametoa mapendekezo juu ya rasimu ya kwanza ya Mpango wa Taifa wa Kutokomeza Ukatili wa Kijinsia kwa wanawake na watoto (MTAKUWWA) kuwa wanaume wasitajwe kuwa ni sehemu ya kundi lililoko hatarini kuathiriwa na Ukatili wa Kijinsia. Wakizungumza na wandishi wa Habari, jijini Dar es salaam, wadau hao wa masuala ya Ukatili wa Kijinsia, Haki za watoto na wanawake, walisema kwamba; “ ….tumesikitishwa sana na pendekezo lililotolewa la kujumuisha wanaume kama kundi linalokabiliwa na vitendo vya ukatili, sawa na wanawake na watoto kwenye Mpango Kazi wa Kitaifa wa Kutokomeza Ukatili na tungependa kuweka wazi msimamo wetu wa kutokubaliana na pendekezo hili” ilisema sehemu ya taarifa yao. Pendekezo hili linalopingwa na wadau hao, limeainishwa kwenye rasimu ya mpango kazi kama inavyosomeka “ Mpango Kazi wa Taifa wa Kutokomeza Ukatili dhidi ya Wanawake, Watoto na Wanaume 2023 - 2027” Ikumbukwe kuwa MTAKUWWA 2017/18 - 2021/22 ilitengenezwa kwa kufuata maazimio ya kitaifa na kikanda yaliyoongozwa na takwimu kuhusu aina mbalimbali za ukatili na makundi yanayopitia ukatili zaidi katika jamii yetu. Maazimio haya yalijikita katika kuongeza jitihada za kuzuia ukatili hasa kwa wanawake na watoto, ili kufikia Malengo ya Maendeleo Endelevu ya mwaka 2030 (hasa lengo 5.2 na 16.2), Ajenda ya Afrika Tuitakayo ya mwaka 2063 na Dira ya Maendeleo ya Taifa ya mwaka 2025 ikilenga maisha bora, utawala bora na utawala wa sheria. Taarifa hiyo imeelza kwamba, Katika jamii ya Tanzania, ukatili ni hali halisi ya kila siku kwa idadi kubwa ya wanawake na watoto kama ilivyo sehemu nyingi duniani. Kulingana na Ripoti ya Kimataifa ya Maendeleo ya Binadamu ya 2015, 35% ya wanawake ulimwenguni wamepitia ukatili wa kimwili au wa kingono kutoka kwa wenzi wao ambao huathiri ustawi wa wanawake. Hapa Tanzania, karibu wanawake wanne kati ya kumi wamepitia ukatili wa kimwili, na mwanamke mmoja kati ya watano amepitia ukatili wa kingono katika kipindi cha maisha yake. Ukatili wa kingono na kimwili kwa wanawake ndani ya ndoa umekuwa zaidi kwa 44%. Vilevile, baadhi ya mila na desturi za kitanzania zimekuwa zikishikilia mfumo dume ambao umeendelea kuwakandamiza wanawake na watoto huku wanaume wakionekana kuwa bora zaidi, jambo ambalo limefanya wanawake na watoto kuendelea kuwa kundi lililo hatarini zaidi katika kuathirika na vitendo vya ukatili. Wadau hao, wamehitimisha kwa kutoa msimamo wao juu ya suala hilo, ambao ni: • Rasimu ya Mpango Kazi wa Taifa wa Kutokomeza Ukatili, itoe neno wanaume, na isomeke, Mpango wa Taifa wa Kutokomeza Ukatili kwa Wanawake na Watoto 2023 - 2027. • Mpango Kazi wa Kitaifa wa Kutokomeza Ukatili, uendelee kuwatambua wanawake na watoto kama kundi linaloathirika zaidi na ukatili wa kijinsia katika jamii na linalohitaji kuwekewa mifumo wezeshi ili kuwalinda dhidi ya vitendo hivyo. Kwa kuwatambua wanaume kama focus ya mpango kazi, mpango kazi wa kitaifa unakuwa umepoteza lengo lake. • Wanaume waendelee kushiriki katika mapambano dhidi ya ukatili kwa wanawake na watoto kama mabalozi,na sio kutambulika kama kundi linalokandamizwa. • Wanaume wanaweza kuendelea kuripoti vitendo vya ukatili wa kijinsia dhidi yao kwa kutumia mifumo mingine ya kisheria bila kuingilia jitihada ambazo zimekua zikifanyika kuwakomboa wanawake na watoto ambao ndio waathirika wakubwa. • Utengenezwaji wa Mpango Kazi mpya uzingatie na kuongozwa na takwimu kuhusu hali halisi ya ukatili katika nchi yetu. Jitihada zaidi ziwekwe kwenye kuboresha mifumo ya kuzuia na kushughulikia matukio ya ukatili, kuimarisha uratibu na kuongeza rasilimali fedha kwenye afua zinazolenga kutokomeza ukatili kwa wanawake na watoto.

Mashirika yanayotetea Haki za wanawake na usawa wa Kijinsia kupambana na Ukatili wa Kijinsia Na Deogratius Temba Mashirika yanayotetea Haki za wanawake na Usawa wa Kijinsia nchini yamekubaliana kwa pamoja kushirikiana katika ngazi ya wilaya kuzuia vitendo vya Ukatili wa Kijinsia unaotokana na uwepo wa mila na desturi kandamizi na zilizopitwa na wakati ili kulinda utu na hadhi ya mtoto wa kike Wakizungumza wakati wa kuweka maazimio ya kuhitimisha mafunzo ya siku nne ya kujenga uwezo juu ya Ushawishi na Utetezi yaliyoandaliwa na Mtandao wa Jinsia Tanzania (TGNP), walikubaliana kwamba, watahakikisha katika ngazi ya wilaya wanaendeleza na kuimarisha nguvu ya pamoja na TAPO la harakati za utetezi wa Haki za wanawake na usawa wa Kijinsia ili kutokomeza vitendo vya Ukatili, udhalilishaji.

Aidha katika mafunzo hayo, wamekubaliana pia, kwenda kujenga uwezo kwa jamii kushiriki kikamilifu katika mchakato wa uandaaji wa Bajeti katika ngazi ya jamii, hasa mchakato wa O&OD, ili kuweza kushawishi bajeti za serikali za Mitaa zizingatie mahitaji ya kijinsia. Awali washiriki hao, walipitishwa lkatika mzunguko wa Bajeti na fursa zilizopo kwa CSOs/ WROs kuibua masuala ya kijinsia ngazi ya jamii na kuyafanyia ushawishi na uchechemuzi ili yaingizwe kwenye bajeti za Halmashauri.

Malengo ya mafunzo haya ni; Kubainisha umuhimu wa asasi kujihusisha na michakato sera na bajeti ya kijinsia katika muktadha wa Tanzania, Kuhamasisha ujenzi wa nguvu za pamoja na mbinu za kimkakati katika kushawishi uingizwaji wa masuala ya jinsia katika bajeti.

Washiriki walikubaliana kwamba; kuna haja ya washiriki wote kwenda kutoa elimu au kufanya mrejesho kwa ofisi zao kili kurejesha elimu ya usawa wa kijinsia na kuzifanya taasisi ziwe na mrengo wa kijinsia.
