Ubungo District Commissioner, Hon. Kheri James today participated in the opening of the Technical meeting and Capacity Building session on Gender Responsive Budgeting(GRB) and Gender Mainstreaming to Councillors and District Council officials from Shinyanga, Mbeya, Morogoro, Mara, Kigoma, Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam.
During the session, he announced the concrete actions that Tanzania is taking to GRB which includes a 3.6 billion shillings girls School in Dar ea Salaam. He reaffirmed GRB brings growth to the economy if GBV by-laws, unpaid care work, Gender-Based Violence in Schools, Homes and the nation at large will continue to be taken into account to prevent a roll back of hard fought Social and economic progress for women and marginalised groups.
